It's Good to be Mommy

Every so often, the kids remind me how special it is to be a mother. I feel loved. Look what Daryn brought me on an ordinary day.

Squirrely Update

Ya, the buggers are up and moving around now. Still stinky. What to do with them, I don't know. They are more squirrel-like now. Do you know they are popular in Costa Rica.

Eggs and more Eggs

The Easter Bunny has arriven.

Let the chaos begin. Man, that Easter Bunny must be pretty tired after putting all of these pretty baskets together.

What's the best part of Easter?

Eating Mr. Easter Bunny's head off!

Of course, only white chocolate for Daryn. Where are all the white bunnies at??
Wow, man, psychodelic baby!

Oh, how money makes the Egg Hunt so much more exciting.
Skate ramps are ideal for hiding eggs.
Maybe, counting your loot is better than finding them.
Sugey was the richest of them all.
I hope the kids had fun and will remember this forever.

Easter Flu Knitting

Tonight, The Easter Bunny will visit. The air is filled with excitement and anticipation. The kids have dyed about three dozen eggs.

Sugey Bear really enjoyed dying the eggs this year.

Ryan drew a dragon egg and Sugey was content with the stickers.

Daryn takes her time and is very meticulous with her eggs.

Of course, Kailen didn't want anyone to eat his eggs.

I have been busy dying of the flu. It's awful, especially when a holiday is coming. BUT, in my more lucid states of sickness, I have been knitting. A few rows here and there. This is my first pair of socks that aren't garter stitches the whole way. I have chosen a lace pattern from Knitty. It's called Vog socks, and I just LOVE the pattern.

I wonder what gifts the Easter Bunny will be bringing. We shall see in the morning.

Yarn is a Life Saver

Yes, you read that right. Yarn has saved my life. Yarn, yarn, yarn. It has gotten me through life, death, and even panic attacks. What would I do without it. Knitting is like a warm hug to my soul. With each knit, with each purl, I am putting my thoughts and being into a work of art. Creating a piece of myself through a web of wool. I am grateful for such simple things in life. It is calming and centering, each time the yarn pulls through my fingers. To give the gift of knitting, is priceless.

This my Dexter's Canvas. I LOVE this yarn. It is from the show Dexter, who is a serial killer, so the yarn represents blood splatters. LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I love knitting to Dexter. It is made by a wonderful yarn artist, Carrie, at Cosmic Fibers. http://www.socksinthecitypodcast.blogspot.com/ She even dyes yarn to the Harry Potter Series. WONDERFUL! Sometimes, you just gotta escape into T.V. Land.

This is my latest sock yarn. The colorway is Moody Blues. Very pretty and soft.

The Cuddle Bear
This is my own design. I started making these a few years ago. I like to embroider the baby's name on the front. It has two sides, a happy one, and a sad one.
This is my oldest daughter, happily displaying mommy's creation.

The Day of the Sugar Bears

My baby bear is growing up. We had a week of sadness with great joy. The sadness, I will leave behind, but never forget. The happiness grows every second I look at the four loves of my life. Indeed, I would be nothing without them. So I will share a bit of the happiness.

When did I lose my morals and conceed to weapons! Oh but he loves them. My little warrior.

How much cuter can you get?

You can never imagine the kind of love you will have inside of you once you have a child.

Lookie What I Found & Best Friend Socks

Saturday these babies were found in a cut down tree branch in a nest. The mama had abandoned them. Can you guess what they are?
Baby Squirrels!!!!!!!

Yes, they are cute. I have been nursing them every two hours with a bottle. They seemed to have warmed up and they are active now. Poor little things were so cold and I was afraid they weren't going to make it. They must be a little over a week old. Their eyes are still shut.

Now for my "Best Friend Socks". These softies are knitted in Cherry Tree Hill Louet Gems Fingering Yarn. The color way is "Misty Moor". I had orignally ordered " Moody Blues", but they sent me this color instead. After fondling it for a bit, I HAD to keep it. I just hope I have enough for the second sock.

This yarn is highly reccomended. Very soft and Springy.
